Envirosax Review and Giveaway

I had heard of Envirosax but hadn't paid much attention.  I knew they were reusable bags that you could take along with you when you did your shopping but that was about the extent of my knowledge.

When the opportunity to test drive Envirosax arose, I jumped at it. I have several of the reusable grocery bags but I never seem to have them with me when I'm out shopping.  I'll put them in the back of the car and forget to bring them in the store.  So, I figured I'd take the Envirosax out on my Saturday errands.

The first stop was the Farmer's Market.  Welll...that was the plan at least.  Mother Nature had other plans.   We desperately needed the rain, so I wasn't too upset!  I did need to make a mail run, so I loaded the Envirosax up with packages and off we went!

It easily held my 15 or so packages and there was plenty of room to spare.   From the post office we went to Joanns.  And Hobby Lobby.  Then on to Pier One!  In all, I hit half a dozen stores and just tossed my purchases into the bag.  I did forget to take a picture though.

The best part of the Envirosax, though is how little space it takes up!  It weighs practically nothing and holds up to 44 lbs! There's also a tag inside that shows you how to fold it back up into the tiny little package it comes as.  I have started tossing the Envirosax in my purse so I (almost) always have it handy.

Conserving Now has offered one lucky reader the chance to win their own Envirosax!  In addition, ConservingNow.com also has free decals that you can put on your car window so you remember to bring your bags inside with you.

I did not even realize I was doing the right thing the way I have been. lol... I use CFL bulbs in my house, rechargeable batteries, have low flow shower heads, I reuse all bags (plastic or paper or what ever)... I was calling myself being cheap. lol... Guess I need to sign up for the tip of the week and see what else I can change. :-)

My green tip would be to invest in a Brita Filtered Water Bottle. They are amazing and fairly chip. So this takes away from buying all the bottled waters.

Its not really a Green tip just an observation. I was so much better at remembering to bring my own bags when I lived in Hong Kong and plastic and paper ones weren't available. I was also so much better at it in Germany where you had to pay for the plastic bags. Its not like I got rid of the bags when I moved back to the US either they jsut collect dust now and they are actually pretty nice.

I learned that a primary goal of ConservingNow is to educate young children on the importance of becoming responsible environmental citizens.

Thank you for the chance!

My green tip - I try to reduce my paper consumption. I have wash rags in place of paper towels in the kitchen and I have homemade cloth napkins to replace paper napkins

I go into the garbage after my husband and pick out what can be put into recycling. I figure that every little bit helps!

My green tip is simple -- if what you already own works for what you need, don't buy the newest "state of the art" whatever until it no longer suits your needs. That goes for cell phones, TVs, furniture, anything. That way, resources (and money) aren't wasted on frivolous purchases.

Have plastic bags at home? Reuse or recycle them! You can:
use them as garbage bag liners
take them to your local park or dog park and donate them
return them to your grocery store for recycling

My green tip is to avoid buying single-serve items. They are the most wasteful items you can buy. Try to buy in bulk and always bring your own bags!

My simple green tip is to reuse whatever you can...no need to go crazy about it...just think before you throw something away.

I learned that 100% of the profits go toward funding classroom kits for schools and/or to offset the costs of the static cling distribution.
