Smallville - How I'd Write Season 11

What would I do if I wrote Smallville?  Hmmm…To start, I think I’d bring back less characters.  As several of the villains have served their purpose in bringing Clark Kent to be Superman, I’d start writing them out.  I’d also focus more on the Clark Kent/Lois Lane relationship.

One of the other pointd that I’d be sure to make is that Superman is always about doing good.  He doesn’t have a dark, brooding side like some other superheroes.  Clark Kent/Superman is always upbeat and has that good ol’ fashioned boyish charm.

I’ve always liked to think that if it wasn’t for discovering that he had superpowers, Clark Kent would have become a fireman or police officer.  Maybe I’d have Clark go on to attend the police academy.  Hmmm….how different would that be?

Now that the 10th season is out on DVD, do you wish that there was an 11th season?  Get the dvd set and watch it again: http://bit.ly/sB4sYu

Perhaps you want to relive the whole season.  You can do that, too!  http://bit.ly/tGOjMX

Smallville: Clark Learns to Fly!

Did you watch the last season of Smallville?  I sort of felt like the show lost it’s way.  Was it just me or did they add a litany of characters starting mid season 9?   I know, I know.  They had to have Clark turn into Superman and realize his powers, but it was almost like the writers felt the need to introduce every character that had ever been mentioned in the comic books

Danger lurked around every corner!  And all the different kinds of Kryptonite?  C’mon!  .   I felt that it detracted from the storyline and made the series muddled.

However, when Clark got the Superman costume from his dad, errr…Mr Kent, it melted even my stone cold heart a little.

Do you have a Smallville super fan?  How about a comic geek?  Wouldn't a DVD box set make a great gift for them?
What did you think of the final season?  Let me know in the comments

Smallville: Season 10 now on DVD

Season 10 was the last for Smallville.  There were some really great moments and some that were total head scratching, WTF story lines.

While I wasn’t a huge fan of all the Lex Luthor, Darkseid, and doppelganger twists and turns, it did, at times, make for some “whoa!” moments.  Like when Tess adopted a Lex clone, Alexander. And when Oliver revealed his secret identity for the betterment of the group?  Doesn’t that go against every superhero covenant ever?  I mean, I get that Gordon Godfrey was going to unmask Oliver as the Green Lantern, (spoiler alert!) but still.

I always enjoyed the storyline of Clark’s relationship with Lana Lang, Lois Lane, and the Kent family.  I think it always hearkened me back to the Christopher Reeve + Margo Kidder movies of my childhood.  And how, exactly, did he keep Lois Lane & Lana Lang separate?  I would be confused as confused could be.  Anyway, I digress.

It nearly broke my heart when Lana left the show.  Lana really had no options, especially after absorbing the Kryptonite bomb and saving the town of Smallville, but still…How tragic!

I grew up with a comic nerd and was thusly inundated with all things DC comics on a near-daily basis.  If you have someone similar in your life, wouldn’t a Smallville Season 10 dvd be a great  holiday gift for them?

Fab Five: Cheese TV

We all have those bad tv shows that we watch. The ones that are so bad they're good. This is my list.

Stone Undercover

I'm a sucker for bad Canadian tv shows. DaVinci's Inquest, Cold Squad, He Shoots, She Scores. The list goes on and on. Stone Undercover may be my very favorite, though.

The Unit

I just started watching this in the past year or so. It's fantastically cheesy. An elite military unit and their wives(?!) fight terrorists around the globe. Um, what?

In the Heat of the Night

Focusing on a small town police department in fictional Sparta, MS. They try so hard to be fully integrated and not biased at all that it almost comes around the other way to get 'em. Interracial relationship? Uh huh. Local boy goes to big city and comes back home? Yup. Female in power? Check.

The View

I admit it. I watch to see what's gonna happen. I'm still hoping for another nuclear meltdown and want to see Elisabeth flip the table RHONJ-style or Joy bish-slap her. Yeah...

All My Children/One Life to Live

I've been a long tome follower of the goings-on in Pine Valley and Llanview. I'm sad to see the shows go, but mannn...some of the storylines are way too recycled. And time either stands still or you come back after a brief hiatus and the kids are now adults with their own families. I'm looking at you Kevin/Joey/Jessica Buchannan.
