Autumn is my favorite season - by far!  This is just a few of the reasons why. 

Pumpkin Spice Latte

YES! It was last weekend that I saw it was available again. That is always one of my key indicators that fall is coming.

Trees changing colors

I've always loved seeing the leaves change colors.  Weather.com has a great Fall Foliage Map that helps you find where trees are changing in your area.

Sweaters

 It's time to start breaking out the sweaters, scarves, and other knits.  Argyle cardigan from Ann Taylor Loft, $69.50.

Cooler Weather

This summer was ridiculously hot where I live, so this is a really welcome change.  

Cozy Nights snuggled up  

I love snuggling up by a fire with a blanket and a cup of tea or cocoa.  Sometimes I read, sometimes I watch tv or a movie.  Picture is of Cross Lake House in MN.

2 Truths 1 Lie - 8/25 - REVEALED!

Sadie over at Randomosity is hosting this fun blog hop.  Everyone has played this before, right?  If not, the name is fairly self-explanatory.  There's 3 statements, 2 of which are true.  You have to guess which one is false.

1. I ate cereal for breakfast
2. I love anything with peanut butter.
3.I love to swim.

#1 was my lie.  I actually had brownies for breakfast.  Yes, plural.

I like just about anything with peanut butter.  During the warmer months, I practically live in the water. 

Fab Five

Since we're still getting to know one another, I thought I should share some of the things I really like. You may have a chance to win one (or more!) of these things soon.

1. Lip Balm.  My favorite lip balm is one I bought in Seattle at a small store a dozen years ago. I carried the empty tin around for a while, comparing it to every similar lip balm I ran across. Alas, the tin is long gone and i never have run across the same one again.  A close second is Burt's Bees.  I love the tingle, the scent, the lack of taste, pretty much everything. At any given time, I have 3 or 4 different lip balms on me.

2. Miranda Lambert.  Love her sound, her attitude, her personality.  And this song?  Yeah...

3. Harmonica Necklace.  I totally dig these!  Sly.  Sassy.  Kitsch.  Plus, it gives you something to do if you're dying of boredom or need someone's attention.  And you never know when a jam is going to break out. 

4. Makeup.  My favorite time of the year is Christmas.  Not for the season, particularly, but because that's when the cosmetic companies put out the big collections of makeup!  I have always loved cosmetics, even though I'm not particularly girly in my everyday life. 

5. Old Buildings.  I adore old buildings.  Some have been remodeled, some have not.  All have a rich and varied history.

What's my story, you ask?  Welll...I'm a late 20-something (okay, I'm 28) who recently called off their upcoming wedding.  More about that later.  I'm starting over and this here blog chronicles all of that, plus some other fun stuff.
